South Carolina also awards need-based grants to qualifying SC residents who attend eligible SC colleges. A student must apply by June 30 each year in order to have the possibility of receiving a grant for the coming school year.
Many needs-based scholarships are based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available here. Beginning with the 2017-18 application cycle, FAFSA applications can be submitted earlier and earlier income information will be used. Details are available here.
