Graduation Requirements:
Class of 2015 and beyond
Students receiving a diploma from Bob Jones Academy need to
- Complete the final two regular semesters full time at Bob Jones Academy
- Take the ACT
- Earn 24 credits in the following subjects:
- Bible — 2 credits
(Bible must be taken each semester a student is enrolled in BJA.) - Computer Science (includes Keyboarding)— 1 credit
- English — 4 credits
(English 9–12) - Foreign Language — 1 credit
- Mathematics — 4 credits
(Algebra I, Geometry, two additional mathematics courses) - Science — 3 credits
(Biological, Physical, one science elective) - Social Studies — 3 credits
(U.S. History, Government/Economics, social studies elective) - Physical Education — 1 credit
- Electives — 5 credits
- Bible — 2 credits
Classes of 2013 and 2014
Students receiving a diploma from Bob Jones Academy need to
- Complete the final two regular semesters full time at Bob Jones Academy
- Take the ACT
- Earn 22 credits in the following subjects:
- Bible — 2 credits
(Bible must be taken each semester a student is enrolled in BJA.) - English — 4 credits
(English 9–12) - Mathematics — 3 credits
(Algebra I, Geometry, mathematics elective) - Science — 3 credits
(Biological, Physical, one science elective) - Social Studies — 3 credits
(U.S. History, Government/Economics, social studies elective) - Physical Education — 1 credit
- Electives — 6 credits
- Bible — 2 credits
Note: South Carolina public school graduation requirements include one additional credit of math, one credit of a foreign language, one credit of computer science (includes keyboarding) and a total of 24 credits; Bible is not required by the public schools. BJA students are able and encouraged to earn these additional credits.
Qualifying juniors and seniors are also able to earn dual credit by enrolling in Bob Jones University courses.
