Step 2: Complete an application
We’re currently accepting applications for the the 2023-24 school year.
A completed application includes each item below.
- Required documents (PDF’s are preferred)
- Birth certificate
- Immunization record
- Grade records
- K3–K5: none required
- Grade 1: evaluation/report card from K5
- Grades 2–9: last two years of report cards
- Grades 10–12: high school transcript
- Achievement test scores (Grades 2–12)
- K3–Grade 1: instead of test scores, we’ll do readiness screening with your child
- K3: informal readiness screening
- K4–K5: readiness screening ($50 fee) Kindergarten Readiness Guidelines
- Grade 1: readiness screening ($75 fee)
- Grades 2–12: nationally standardized achievement test scores (most recent available; if not within the past 14 months, contact us for information about scheduling testing)
- K3–Grade 1: instead of test scores, we’ll do readiness screening with your child
- The results of any psychoeducational evaluations including IEP or 504 plans (if applicable)
- Custody decree (if applicable)
- Student statements (grades 6–12) to be completed by the student within the online application
- Who is Jesus Christ?
- Do you have a personal relationship with Him, and how do you know?
- Why do you want to attend BJA?
- Name and email address for recommendation/s
- K3–12: Your pastor or another leader at your church who knows your family
- Grades 1–12: your child’s teacher or a school administrator
- $25 non-refundable application fee
Note: Please contact our office (email or 864.770.1395) before beginning an application if the applicant:
- Is a sibling of a current BJA student
- Is the child of an employee of Bob Jones University (including BJU Press and BJA)
- Is under 3 years old (Child Development Center application)
- Is not a citizen of the United States (international application)
Step 3: Explore Partnership
After receiving and reviewing your child’s application including required documents and recommendations, the principal will meet with your family to discuss your child’s prospective enrollment.
Step 4: Await Enrollment Decision
Based on the partnership meeting and application documents, a decision will be made regarding offering your child enrollment. The admission coordinator will inform you of the decision.
Step 5: Pay Commitment Fee
After enrollment is offered, a $300 per student (maximum of $600 per family) nonrefundable commitment fee will be due to secure your child’s reservation.
