Saturday, April 9, seven high school students from BJA were recognized and awarded as finalists in the “Silver Search” Essay Contest sponsored by First Foundations, Inc.
These awards were handed out during a banquet luncheon that day. The 2011 “Silver Search” Essay contest consisted of a 400-600 word essay on the word silver, found in specific verses in the Scriptures.
Several public, private, Christian, and homeschool students in the upstate participated. BJA students captured seven of the ten finalist awards, and each finalist was given a one ounce, pure silver coin.
Our seven finalists were Kayla Fenstermaker, Abbie Ludwig, Nichole Martinson, Kristen Ince, Benjamin Blummer, Jared Miller, and Megan Steeves.
In addition, Kayla Fenstermaker received a $200 cash prize for finishing second overall, and Abbie Ludwig received a $100 cash prize for finishing third overall. Congratulations to our students!
