The Hampton Park Christian School Panthers and the BJA Lions battled it out in basketball before a packed house of loyal supporters of both teams. The women’s teams played the opening game. Although the Lions fought hard, they fell to the Panthers 44 to 19. Rebecca Teruel was the top BJA scorer with 8 points.
The men’s game proved more challenging for both teams. BJA took an early lead which the Panthers could not overcome. The Panthers began a comeback in the 4th quarter, but they were unable to take the Lions—who won 61 to 56. Lead scorers for BJA included Kyle Forsythe with 23,Marshall Forsythe with 19 and Scott Farley with 13.
The season will end February 3 with away games against Easley Christian.
