The 2012 varsity soccer and volleyball seasons are under way. Soccer opened with a home game featuring the Lions versus the Killian Hill Cougars from Lilburn, Ga. The BJA team came out on top—scoring seven goals and shutting out the Cougars.
The Lady Lions hosted the first-ever girls volleyball tournament. Eight teams competed in the two-day tournament held in the Davis Field House and Academy Gym.
The Lady Lions won their prelim games against Killian Hill, Jubilee Christian and Westgate Christian. On Saturday, after defeating Jubilee Christian again, the Lady Lions advanced to the semifinal round for a rematch with Killian Hill. Killian Hill advanced to the final round and beat Hampton Park to become the tournament champions.
Congratulations to BJA juniors Christine Formanack and Amanda Leatherwood for being chosen as All-Tournament players.
