BJA Speech and Debate Students Qualify for National Tournaments

On March 15–16, 2013, the BJA Forensic Team competed at the South Carolina NFL District Qualifier tournament.Placing in the top of their events, the following students will represent South Carolina at the NFL National Tournament to be held June 16–21 in Birmingham, Ala.
In Policy Debate – Micah Samuels and Elliott Kelley
In Policy Debate – Nichole Martinson and Will Christmas
In Lincoln-Douglas Debate – Marina Shew
In Dramatic Interpretation – Helena Sullivan and Margaret Stegall
Additionally, BJA students received bids (based on high placements at local tournaments) to attend the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions to be held May 10–11 in San Antonio, Texas:
In Duo Interpretation – Caleb Miller and Leah Petterson
In Original Oratory – Caleb Miller
In Dramatic Interpretation – Helena Sullivan and Margaret Stegall
