Officer Jeremy Jones of the Travelers Rest Police Department recently visited students in K4. His visit wasn’t a response to a distress call, but rather a visit by invitation of BJA’s K4 students. The students and teachers presented him with a very special donation. The students brought stuffed animals to give to Officer Jones so that he and his fellow officers could use them to comfort children who are involved in traumatic situations. Officer Jones expressed his thanks and explained to the classes why he likes to keep stuffed animals in his patrol vehicle. Just a day before his visit, he responded to a traffic accident with several children involved; and he was able to grab stuffed animals and hand them to those young victims. The K4 students donated three large boxes of stuffed animals so that Officer Jones and his coworkers can continue to help children.
