If working with airplanes is of interest to you, then what Kathryn Christmas did this summer will prove to be fascinating! Kathryn attended the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Air Academy for a week in July. Hosted in Oshkosh, Wis., the week included learning about airplanes and some flying time. Kathryn attended three-hour classes each day followed by hands-on experience with the planes. She experienced “pulling G’s” and “negative G’s” as well as welding, working with spark plug trays, and weight and balance of a model plane.
Says Kathryn of her experience, “I really liked the classes each day because we learned about pressure and weather. This was an opportunity to spend time with unsaved students and see how they react to following instructions.” Kathryn also got the opportunity to witness to two of her classmates.
Kathryn’s experience was beneficial to her because in the future she plans to join the Air Force!
