In January over 8,000 band students auditioned at the regional level for Region and All-State Honor Bands. 1,250 of the top scoring students were invited to participate in a second round of auditions two weeks later. BJA had seven middle and high school band students invited to this second round. Four of our students earned high enough scores to be awarded chairs in the 2017 SC All-State Bands.
This past weekend they attended the All-State Honor Band Clinic hosted by the Furman University Music Department. These students participated in two days of rehearsals, ending with a concert on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Congratulations are in order for these students who represented BJA with these honors.
