Introductory Art
Designed to give students a foundation in basic art principles and media. Concentrates on two-dimensional art and design first semester and three-dimensional art and design second semester. Involves studio work in drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and other mixed media; develops skills in sketching, contour drawing, color theory, perspective, and the elements of art. Explores art history and stresses the beauties of the Creator and artistic abilities supplied to man.

Advanced Art
Builds on the student’s knowledge of two-dimensional and three-dimensional art through a highly structured studio environment that allows for self-directed learning and choice within the boundaries of themes and concepts. Available tools and art materials are introduced to students who can then access and arrange these materials to initiate and explore their artwork to develop a deeper practice of artistic behavior and thinking. Primarily project-based with assigned and independent work required.

Introduction to Graphic Design
Explores elements and principles of design and their effective application in graphic arts. Familiarizes students with the computer as a design tool. Utilizes Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Includes taking design projects from initial brainstorming to a finished design piece.
