New York Mission Trip

  Purpose

to develop God-loving and others-serving leadership among our seniors through working together in ministry activities at local churches and through proclaiming Christ in a microcosm of the world in New York City’s multicultural setting.

Qualifications

Leadership begins with leading ourselves–we start to become leaders by having certain characteristics and habits in our own lives. Students who want to participate in this leadership activity need to already be showing these things.

A student needs to consistently demonstrate:

  • Love for God and others
  • Godly speech and behavior
  • Initiative, strong work ethic, and trustworthiness

A student needs to have:

  • GPA of 3.0 or above with no D’s or F’s on first semester’s final report card and on second semester’s midterm report card; Dr. White or Miss Freeman may make exceptions for other hard-working students.
  • 30 demerits or fewer during the semester before and semester of the trip; Mr. Tompkins may make individual exceptions.
  • good attendance record; see Mr. Tompkins for specific questions.
