On March 3, the final rounds of the high school sermon contest were held.
The contest which began in February had 17 participants, five 9-10 graders in one division and twelve 11-12 graders in the other. The judges were retired faculty Ray Hansel and Bud Bierman, BJU graduate assistants Matt Wilson and Mich Mauer, and Academy Bible teachers Brandon Autry and John Weathers.
Students were judged on sermon content, illustrations, personal appearance, eye contact, grammar and our overall impression. The division winners will receive a devotional book and an opportunity to preach in the high school chapel in May.
Congratulations to the following winners:
9-10 grade: Nicolas Marsceau
11-12 grade: Warren Vergiels
