Although there have been no classes at BJA for many weeks, the administration and office staff have been busy preparing for the opening of the 2011–2012 school year.
In addition to creating class schedules, the staff has welcomed a new administrator and updated computer programs. Mr. Dan Nelson began his tenure as the Bob Jones Academy administrator on July 5. Under his leadership the school year will be the first in which Bob Jones Academy students will include infants through seniors.
Faculty will attend in-service training meetings beginning Monday, August 8. At the end of the week, parents are invited to attend the BJA Back-to-School Night. The event will take place at the following times and locations:
Thursday, August 11: Middle School (grades 7–8), 7 p.m., Academy Auditorium
Friday, August 12: Preschool and Elementary School (infants–grade 6), parents and students, drop in between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. in the students’ classroom
Friday, August 12: High School (grades 9–12), parents only, 7 p.m., Academy Auditorium
Pending completion of the new computer program, parents will use Online Check-In to update parent and student information and to receive student class and teacher information.
Classes for grades K4–8 begin on Monday, August 15, at 8 a.m.
Grades 9–12 will follow an adjusted class schedule on Monday, August 15, with school events beginning at 8 a.m.
