From stories to research papers to writing poems, second-graders at Bob Jones Academy have been working through the steps to good writing. To support what they have studied and to encourage them to keep on writing, a special guest came to visit. On Wednesday, April 4, Beth Brotherton, news anchor for WYFF News 4, spoke with the students. Telling stories of her childhood in Zambia and of her early work in television news, Mrs. Brotherton had the students listening attentively, laughing and asking questions; but most of all, she encouraged them to write—to keep journals, write stories and poems—and to continue improving their writing skills.
