Armed with iPads, paper, and basic knowledge about plants, third graders recently set out to explore the foliage found around BJA. Together students worked to find a variety of flora. Once the plant leaves were gathered, the students used their iPads to scan and identify the items. With the help of a botany app, students identified leaves based on their regional location, their shape, and their environment. Students were also able to learn characteristics of the plants, along with other similar plants.
