Parents milling about; students laughing, talking, and stuffing luggage in bays under a bus; and teachers checking lists and discussing details with each other, students and parents—such was the scene at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, October 15, as 7th-graders prepared to depart for the Creation Museum and the Cincinnati Museum Center. Seventy-six students and eleven adults embarked on this first-ever, three-day trip hosted by Dan Wooster of Camp Infinity. At the Creation Museum, the students heard presentations on the origin of the universe and what is meant by evolution, watched stargazing and planetarium presentations in the CM planetarium, toured the various exhibits and rode a series of zip lines outside the museum. At Cincinnati, they toured the Museum of Natural History and Science—which presented much of the same evidence they had seen the day before but from an entirely different point of view. In between, the students stayed at Higher Ground Conference Center in Indiana where they played, slept and were treated to an excellent breakfast each morning. Overall, the trip combined building faith and challenging thinking with food, fellowship and fun.
