We have had a very active flu season and are still having students diagnosed with the flu. As we enter into spring and the allergy season, please note the following reminders about illness and medication.
To minimize exposure and and spread of illness, please remember that students need to stay home if they have any of the following symptoms: fever over 100 degrees, vomiting, frequent diarrhea, frequent cough, widespread rash, or severe headache. Symptoms should be absent for at least 24 hours before the student returns to school. Students need to be free of fever for 24 hours without the aid of fever-reducing medication. If your student typically needs allergy medicine in the spring, please consider starting it now so that it will be effective when the pollen descends.
For elementary and middle school students, any prescription and/or over-the-counter medicine needed at school should be sent in the original container accompanied by a completed medication form; forms need to be completed only once for each medication. Instructions regarding high school students are slightly different. Read more.
We are looking forward to a healthy spring! If you have any questions, please contact our nurse, Mrs. Sue Biddle.
