Colonel George Youstra, a 1978 Academy graduate who serves as Command Chaplain for United States Special Operations at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, addressed the 92 graduates of Bob Jones Academy during the 92nd commencement exercises, which were held in Rodeheaver Auditorium on the BJU campus Thursday, May 9.
Previously, Colonel Youstra served as Joint Staff Chaplain in the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
Anna Tuck and Sarah Knisely were the valedictorian and salutatorian respectively.
Eighty-six of the 92 graduates are planning to attend college in the fall, with 53 going on to Bob Jones University. Others plan to attend Auburn University, Cedarville University, Clemson University, Furman University, Greenville Technical College, Indiana University, Liberty University, North Greenville University, Regent University, The Citadel, University of the Arts, University of South Carolina, University of South Carolina-Upstate, and the University of Toledo.
Three students are planning to enlist in the military. Two students are attending cosmetology school. One student has an apprenticeship at TW Quarter Circle Ranch, and one is entering the workforce directly.
