We are excited to announce that this semester’s crew trips will be Thursday, Oct 26. We are planning for every student to participate. If your child will not be at school on Oct 26, please let Sarah Walters know by Wednesday, Oct 4.
Attire:
- Crew shirt and athletic wear for bottoms (jeans, athletic pants, or shorts that approach the knee).
- If your child does not have a crew shirt, their school Friday spirit shirt or their uniform shirt is an acceptable option.
Cost:
- See individual trips below.
- Charges for each trip will be added to your school bill in November.
- If the cost of a trip would not allow your student to participate, please let Sarah Walters know. We will work to get a scholarship. If you would like to give towards scholarships for these trips, we will welcome those funds.
- We understand that sickness may happen the day before or morning of these trips, however, if you already know that your child will be missing school on Oct 20, please let Sarah Walters know immediately. Tickets will be booked by Oct 5. A cancellation after this date may still result in a school bill charge.
Parent Volunteers: If you would like to join any of the crews in a parent-service role, please reply here to Sarah Walters. Information on cost, travel options, etc. will be provided. You will be asked to stay with your student(s)’ group and be an extra set of eyes and ears to the faculty lead for the group.
Second semester trips: Mitrata and Samhold will have service trips, and Servir and Ushujaa will go on bonding trips.
Goodie bag items: The Ushujaa crew will be assembling gift bags for underprivileged children or senior citizens. Students in all crews are invited to help provide items for these bags. Items should be delivered to the Hutto office no later than Thursday, Oct 19.
