This past July, BJA teachers Pam Litzenberger and Amy Corey had the unique opportunity to teach at the inaugural summer of Camp Infinity. CI is a STEM camp with an emphasis on “Creation Apologetics Made Personal” (CAMP). Before camp actually began, the teachers, counselors and camp director Paul Litzenberger spent a week at the Creation Museum in Kentucky receiving apologetics training—preparing them to answer campers’ questions and instruct them on science, technology, engineering and math from a biblical worldview. Once campers arrived each week, they visited the Creation Museum, Big Bone Lick State Park (to see the fossil digs) and the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History & Science. Two BJA students, Brooklyn and Lacy, attended this first year of camp.
In between activities such as zip lining, robotics, astronomy and geocaching, campers learned about carbon-14 dating, dendrochronology, tension/compression and graticules—just to name a few. Miss Corey also demonstrated science experiments featuring physics concepts. The highlight of the week was spending the night at the Creation Museum and sleeping with the dinosaurs. This year the camp was open only to 7th- and 8th-graders. Next summer camps are planned for both high school and junior high young people.
