A pre-historic science unit came to a conclusion as second graders dug for fossils – and an authentic dig it was! The weather was hot, the ground dusty and dirty, and the results hard to come by. Under Mrs. Connie Peterson’s leadership, many students were able to successfully unearth the items that resembled the remains of animals. After digging, students used various tools to remove dirt and other debris and study the object they found. Though digging in the courtyard with garden shovels, students experienced in a small way what archeologists do each day and left with a new appreciation for their work.
