BJA’s Class of 2016 enjoyed their senior trip to The Wilds last week, a week that blended opportunities for spiritual growth and the development of deeper relationships with one another and with the teachers and administrators who served as sponsors during the trip.
Preachers for the week were Matt Herbster, Joe Fant and Willie Partin. Students came back encouraged not only by the preaching but also by the testimonies of other seniors.
The week of the senior trip followed some significant rain—and that and a beautiful week’s weather combined for better-than-usual creek tubing and a great afternoon at the lake. Views from The Zip were stunning—including unusually full waterfalls—this first senior trip since The Zip opened in April.
Scheduled early during the senior year, the trip typically affects the remainder of the school year. The seniors were challenged to continue to respond to the Lord after the trip, allowing Him to use this week’s growth for much good not only for themselves but also for others with whom they interact.
Upon their return, the seniors were welcomed back with a luncheon provided by the junior class.
