We’re excited about a unique opportunity at BJA on Saturday, Nov. 12. Working with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), BJA has created a community event for students in grades 6 through 8 to demonstrate how science, technology, engineering, and math are used to solve problems.
The curriculum for this event will be showcased in other communities in the southeastern United States as IEEE connects with other schools. IEEE’s MOVE truck will be highlighted at this event. The MOVE truck is a mobile power and communication station that travels to areas affected by natural disasters and provides temporary communication, computer, and power solutions. Students will learn about natural disasters, the creation of power (including making a battery!), and more. Seating for the event is limited.
The truck may be toured by the public as well. You’re welcome to come by any time during the event to see the truck for yourself and talk to engineers who are knowledgeable about and may deploy with the truck. Read more.
