To help explore future career options, juniors took the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) and the related Find Your Interests (FYI) interest inventory yesterday. We also talked about Career Exploration and Knowing God’s Will.
Later this month juniors have optional small group lunchtime meetings to discuss college preparation—from scholarships to majors—with our academic advisor, Miss Freeman. (She emailed juniors a link—or they can stop by the academic office—to sign up.) We hope to have received and give the ASVAB scores to the juniors at those meetings.
Parents, your junior already has the FYI results. The ASVAB scores include information about accessing great online resources that allow you to combine the FYI and ASVAB information to identify career areas where your student may be both interested and gifted. The ASVAB/FYI testing should give you tools to have helpful conversations with your junior about potential college and career plans.
