One way to promote school choice is through creating educational savings account opportunities on the state level. I’m encouraged that South Carolina lawmakers are moving forward with an educational savings account bill right now. Proponents of school choice are optimistic that the bill can pass both legislative chambers. Would you contact your representatives and ask them to support the measure?

The COVID vaccine is out. But students across South Carolina and their families are still struggling.
The good news: friends inside the South Carolina General Assembly tell us that key lawmakers will soon introduce a bill known as an Education Scholarship Account (ESA).
How could an ESA potentially help YOUR child?
ESAs allow parents of eligible students to apply for an account funded with state education dollars (not federal or local) that allow families to customize their child’s education. Families have the freedom to choose from a list of qualified education service providers that could include school tuition, tutoring, textbooks, therapy or any approved education service that accommodates their student’s unique needs!
You can learn about how ESAs work here.
But if ESAs are to become a reality in South Carolina, we need your help now!
You can use this easy tool to find your state lawmakers and let them know: you support OPPORTUNITY NOW for every student in our state. Ask them to support Education Scholarship Accounts for South Carolina students like yours!
We’ll be in touch with more details soon!
