Computer Applications
Introduces students to the basics of computers. Covers Microsoft Office, focusing on practical uses for the home, college and corporate settings. Covers PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel, with additional instruction in Word and Access. Teaches computer terminology, practical hardware maintenance and troubleshooting for the average user, as well as best practices for using the Internet.

Introduction to Graphic Design
Explores elements and principles of design and their effective application in graphic arts. Familiarizes students with the computer as a design tool. Utilizes Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and PhotoShop. Includes taking design projects from initial brainstorming to a finished design piece.
Keyboarding
Introduces students to touch typing on computer keyboards with an emphasis on accuracy and speed. Requires memorizing the keyboard, followed by learning how to create, format, edit, store, retrieve and print business documents in Microsoft Word. Includes business documents such as letters, academic and business reports, resumes, and tables.

Word Processing
Offers an increased emphasis on keyboarding accuracy and speed. Hands-on applications provide advanced work with letters, reports and tables in Microsoft Word, as well as using various templates and designing flyers and newsletters using basic desktop publishing features. Studies also include data entry, formatting, formulas and charts in Excel. Students will be introduced to the basics of PowerPoint, Publisher, and Photo Story 3.
