Over 600 high school students, coaches, judges and parents filled the Quadrangle for the 27th Annual BJA Speech and Debate Invitational. Hosted each year in October, the tournament draws teams from public and private schools from a four-state area. BJA team members served as tournament hosts by directing contestants and judges to contest rooms, running the tabulation room, serving lunch to contestants and judges, and selling concessions. At the end of the four-round tournament, over 125 trophies were presented to top contestants in debate, public speaking and interpretation events. Southside High school of Greenville, S.C., won the overall sweepstakes trophy.
