Each year, the South Carolina chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) hosts a fall conference for choral directors from around the state.
As the premier professional organization for choral conductors, ACDA membership includes directors who participate in choral music at all levels—from elementary, middle and high school choirs to collegiate, community and professional ensembles. In addition to guest artists and clinicians, one highlight of the conference is performances by groups from around the state. Performance groups are chosen based on audition DVDs submitted to a selection committee. For the first time, the elementary Choral Program will be represented when the Advanced Choir (5th- and 6th-grade choir members) sings at Anderson University on Friday, October 10, at 3:15 p.m. The Advanced Choir will sing three selections to open the concert.
